The Ghana Education Service (GES) is inviting applications from suitably qualified officers for application for promotion into Assitant Director 2 Grades for 2019/2020.
The Ghana Education Service (GES) has opened applications for promotions into the Grade of Assistant Director 2 for all of its staff. Applications are invited from suitably qualified serving officers of the Ghana Education Service (GES) for consideration for promotion to DIRECTOR II in the Service.
To provide leadership, technical and administrative support in teaching and learning in the District for the achievement of the mandate of the Ghana Education Service.
Duties and Responsibilities a) Coordinates all teaching and learning activities for the effective and efficient management of resources (human, material and financial) of the GES in the District. b) Ensures the effective implementation of pre-tertiary educational policies, plans and programmes in the District. c) Ensures the effective and efficient supervision and management of teaching and learning in all pre-tertiary educational institutions in the District. d) Ensures the development of work plans and budget for teaching and learning in the District. e) Ensures the preparation of annual other periodic reports on teaching and learning in the District. f) Ensures the implementation of performance management policy in the District. g) Advises the Metro/Municipal/District Chief Executive on pre-tertiary educational matters in the District.
Skills and Competencies a) Extensive knowledge in teaching and learning in pre-tertiary education b) Good leadership, networking, monitoring and management skills c) Good communication, interpersonal and presentation skills d) Good quantitative, qualitative and analytical skills e) Negotiating, lobbying and conflict resolution skills f) Capacity to inspire and motivate g) Good knowledge in financial, procurement and budgeting regulations h) Proficiency in relevant computer applications i) High integrity, confidentiality, firm and fair
Qualification and Experience a) A minimum of a bachelor’s degree in a relevant field from an accredited tertiary institution. b) A master’s degree in Educational Administration/Management from an accredited tertiary institution, or related discipline, would be an advantage. c) Must be a professional teacher, i.e. must have successful undergone a teacher-education programme of studies which, in the aggregate, lasts not less than one (1) academic year. d) A minimum of two (2) years on the grade of Deputy Director. e) Must have a very satisfactory work history and conduct within the Ghana Education Service. f) Must be in the position to serve the Service for at least four (4) years before compulsory retirement.
How to Apply for GES Application for Promotions
a) An applicant should complete six (6) copies of the APPLICATION FORMS (Specimen attached) to each one of which should be affixed a recent passport size photograph. b) Each set of Application Forms must be accompanied by a STAFF PERFOMANCE APPRAISAL REPORT (Specimen attached) in six (6) copies issued by the applicant’s Regional/Divisional Director. c) Completed application forms should be forwarded through the Regional or Divisional Director to reach THE DIRECTOR-GENERAL, GHANA EDUCATION SERVICE, ACCRA not later than 31st January, 2019.
